Financial Aid

 

TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS are available to new transfer students who enroll in 15 credit hours, are U.S. Citizens, and fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Transfer Scholarships are renewable up to four consecutive semesters with enrollment of 15 credit hours and completion of at least 12 credit hours per semester with a 2.5 GPA the first semester of the award and a 3.0 semester GPA each consecutive semester thereafter.

 

These scholarships may not be combined. Students who qualify for more than one institutional academic scholarship will be awarded the highest value academic scholarship. Transfer scholarships may be combined with performance awards, not to exceed tuition and residence hall costs. Official academic transcripts must be sent to the Admissions Office. Transfer Scholarships are awarded upon transcript evaluation and verification of the scholarship criteria.

 

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Transfer Scholarship:

Requirements: Membership in PTK – 25 available awards per year

Value: $2,000 per academic year ($1,000 per semester)

 

Board of Governor’s Transfer Scholarship:

Requirements: 3.5 GPA – 42 transfer credit hours

Value: $1,500 per academic year ($750 per semester)

 

University Academic Transfer Scholarship:

Requirements: 3.25 GPA – 42 transfer credit hours

Value: $1,000 per academic year ($500 per semester)

 

Transfer Scholarship:

Requirements: 2.75 GPA – 24 transfer credit hours

Value: $800 per academic year ($400 per semester)

 

Non-Resident Service Area Transfer Scholarship:

Requirements: 2.5 GPA – 24 transfer credit hours

Value: Equivalent to the non-resident portion of tuition for 15 credit hours per semester.

Student must be transferring from or a resident of the MSSU Service Area which includes certain counties within Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma. These counties are listed here

Midwest Student Exchange Program:

Requirements: Transfer Students must have a 2.5 GPA at time of enrollment and be a resident of Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, or Wisconsin. Some counties in Kansas are in the MSSU Service Area and may be eligible for the Non-resident Service Area Transfer Scholarship above.

Value: One-half of the out of state portion of tuition for 15 credit hours per semester.
